The book that my group was assigned was The Working Poor. I think that this book is going to be a good and interesting read. I am not used to reading non-fiction books, so it will be a nice change. I think that it is important to read books like this because I think it is the best way to stay informed about things happening all around the world.

I really liked the essays. I enjoyed the Jon Franklin one the best because it isn't something that I've experienced before. It was really interesting to read about some thing that is so intricate and amazing. It's something that I've always been interested in too. This story feels like a movie. It feels like someone is giving you a synopsis of a film about this surgery.
I found it interesting how the story was called "Terrifying..."  I think that is an incredibly powerful word. Terror is greater than Fear. Terror is paralyzing and intense. Fear is something you feel when you drop your phone and think that your screen broke. That isn't a "terrifying" experience. It's just momentarily scary.

Profile

Hello!
I would really like to profile one of these three people:

  1. My Grandfather, Sam Cohen- He has been a manager for many excellent boxers. He has been involved in boxing his whole life but I would really like to focus on his most recent achievement of becoming the president of the Florida Women's Boxing Hall of Fame.
  2. Dr. Jim Crowley- he is currently on sabbatical from teaching at BSU. I would like to ask him about why he choose to go on sabbatical and what he has been doing.
  3. Nick Schepis- he is the promotions director at WBIM Bridgewater, our radio station on campus. I think it would give me the opportunity to learn more about the radio station as well as actually do Public Relations, which is what I want to do for a career.
Thanks,
Hannah Cohen
