My feelings on what is going on in Ferguson are simple: Darren Wilson needs to go to jail. I feel like he is getting away with murder. It also feels like the Grand Jury had a secret trial about the case and made the decision that he is not guilty. I'm also SO MAD that people on campus aren't protesting it. I wonder if they don't want to make waves or they just don't know. This is a really important event and will go down in History Books.
I believe the protests are necessary but not rioting. Violence is not the answer here, just as Mike Brown's parents said, and the president said. There is a bigger problem here that is only solved by peaceful conversations and peaceful protests. There is absolutely no reason for the violence that has been going on.
I LOVED what was going on during the Black Friday shopping. Apparently, sales were down 7%, which I think is great. I try to shop small anyway because I think promoting small businesses are really important.
I really don't want to get too into it because I will just get really mad.
I'm glad that you brought up the Black Friday protests because I thought that was get too. Black Friday has gotten out of control and it just keeps proving how superficial and consumer driven out society is. For people to not only stop shopping, but to do it for an issue that is effecting our nation, and as you said will be in history books, meant so much more. I agree, there is no reason for this violence to go on. People are destroying their own towns and their neighbors homes all to make a point, which has seemed to get lost in all the damage and violence they have been causing anyway. It is REALLY hard to talk about with out getting mad!
